January 28th. Gesso and myths.
This week we were using gesso and boards to paint and draw on. We took inspiration from myths and fairytales.
January session

The January session will now be taking place on the 28th instead of the 21st as initially we planned.

17th December 2011
We drew a selection of festive branches, berries and fruits. We drew on acetate or tracing paper and made lanterns.
19th November. Portraiture.
An intense session this week and a small group. We drew portraits, taking inspiration from Betty Edwards.
This included drawing from images turned upside-down, a very fine exercise.
Last Saturday
At the last session we surprised everyone with the news that they'd be drawing pictures to be exhibited in a bakery in Hitchin . . . then we watched the terror flit across their faces. But despite reservations the results were splendid.
It was a lovely sunny day, so sunny in fact that Brian resorted to this fetching sun hat, very fine.
